Summary
Willow is a very versatile and colourful material that can be used for a wide range of supports and containers for the garden. This workshop will provide an opportunity to make a garden support for climbing plants, a pot cover or even a compostable compost bin, using basic basket making techniques.

Willow is a very versatile and colourful material that can be used for a wide range of supports and containers for the garden.
This workshop will give participants an opportunity to make a garden support for climbing plants or a pot cover or even a compostable compost bin for those with some previous experiance. The ultimate in sustainability and attractive too!
No previous experience with willow weaving is needed although those with some experience will find some new ideas. We will use willow that is grown on the willow beds at Well Farm so there will be a good choice of colourful, organically grown material to choose from. We will use some basic basket making techniques which you can adapt to a wide range of projects.
Student Requirements
Please make sure you bring the following to the course:
- Sharp secateurs
- A Penknife
- A camera might be useful
- A contribution to a shared lunch
- Materials will cost approx £5.00
