Course Schedule and Enrolment
Summary
The course will cover choosing and preparing a site, which varieties of willow to grow and when to harvest, with practical experience of planting and harvesting. We will walk to the Trust’s own willow beds, selecting cuttings to make a stick platter or fish dish to take home.
More Information
The course will start with an introduction to the Yarner Trust Willow Project and will also include an introduction to the uses of willow.
This will be followed by a tour of the estate and include the living willow dome and “leafy” loo in the camp field. We will then walk to the Well Farm willow beds to do some practical work there.
After lunch there will be a discussion on the uses of willow and an opportunity to work on a simple weaving project.
