Three days designed for creative textile enthusiasts. Spend a weekend with other like minded people and why not take the residential option to indulge yourself.

NATURAL DYEING - Friday 18th September
Rosie will take you through the different stages required to create a rainbow of colours from plant materials. Gather flowers and leaves from the dye garden here as well as using additional dyes from abroad. Take home a basket full of beautiful colours.

CREATIVE SPINNING - Saturday 19th September
This day is designed for people with a basic knowledge of hand spinning who would like to extend their skills to create coloured and textured s yarns from naturally dyed fleece. Using special carding and plying techniques you will be able to design and make different yarns to weave, knit or stitch with.

CREATIVE KNITTING – Sunday 20th September
Throw away your conventional patterns and discover how to make exciting garments using scraps of different textured wool. Use some of the beautifully dyed and spun yarns you have created on the weekend or something from the wide range of commercial yarns that are available today.

Rosie has been interested in hand spinning and natural dyes for over thirty years. She now lives on a smallholding where she grows many different dye plants and keeps a flock of sheep for their wool. As well as running spinning and natural dye workshops in schools and colleges, Rosie has been commissioned by the National Trust, The Eden Project and RHS Rosemoor, and writes occasionally for Country Smallholding magazine.
