Alan has kept his family self-sufficient in pork and bacon products for twenty years. He has bred from Tamworth, Saddleback and cross-bred sows, but nowadays choses to buy in weaners and fatten them to slaughter weight. He is a regular contributor to Country Smallholding magazine.
